Braddock Bay Raptor Research is hosting a full day of programs and activities in August to learn about red-tailed hawks.
Visitors can witness the dispersal of juvenile red-tailed Hawks away from their natal or birth areas and their parents. These young birds, only a few weeks out of the nest, travel in groups on the predominately southwest winds that bring our warm weather towards the end of summer. They can be seen together in groups that number into the thousands as they sail on the thermals in search of their next meal.
The day will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22 at the Lodge at Braddock Bay Park, 199 E. Manitou Road, Greece. The location is wheelchair accessible.
The cost is $3 donation for adults and free for kids.
