The Hilton girls lacrosse team won its first-ever division title this past season, topping the league in just its third year as a varsity program. The Cadets’ roster featured three first-team all county selections and three second-team all county selections as they finished the 2012 season with a record of 14-3.
Leading the way on the field and off was junior Briana Kimble. One of only three girls lacrosse players in Western New York on the ESPN watch list for the graduating class of 2013, Kimble recently made a verbal commitment to play Division I lacrosse at Robert Morris University for the fall of next year.
A member of the varsity lacrosse team since its inception in 2010, Kimble was recently named to the 2012 All Greater Rochester girls lacrosse team. The selection capped one of the most decorated seasons in program history, as she also earned Monroe County Division 3 Player of the Year honors, first-team all league honors and team offensive MVP. Kimble’s all-league selection and offensive MVP award marked the third consecutive season she was bestowed both honors.
“Briana is a natural born play maker,” said Hilton head coach Amanda Golisano. “and she did a great job of overcoming being face guarded. She is a very humble athlete who never brags about her accomplishments.”
A team member on the Western New York/Greater Rochester National Tournament Team No. 1, Kimble plays summer club lacrosse for the LADY ROC Lacrosse Club. In her three seasons at the varsity level she has amassed a school-record 236 points (152 goals, 84 assists) to go along with 113 draw controls, 108 forced turnovers and 157 ground balls. A four-time recipient of the New York State Scholar Athlete Award, Kimble ran three years of varsity cross county for Hilton while also competing on the varsity field hockey team. She has been named as one of four captains for the Hilton girls lacrosse team for the 2013 season.
