I don't know how much money our state, county or town is saving by either not cutting or partially cutting the grass along our roadways, but it won't seem like much if someone's life is lost because of it.

It's bad enough that the asthetics of our roadways has become so poor, I believe it is causing a real safety issue. With the shoulders and medians of most highways in our area not cut at all or cut back 4 or 5 feet from the edge, drivers don't get much of an opportunity to see any animals darting out from the tall weeds, alarming the drivers and causing possible accidents.

Other examples of concern are the 390 southbound exit ramps at Latta Road and Ridge Road West. When pulling up to the intersections at the end of these ramps, the weeds are so tall that you have to almost put the nose of your vehicle into oncoming traffic to see if there is anyone approaching.

Really, how much money are we saving by not cutting the grass?
