Is this the future of politics? Unlimited funding by anonymous donors whose only goal is to make sure a particular party wins the election? Every evening, almost every half hour we see a commercial for Sean Hanna against County Legislator Ted O’Brien, which is one of the most ugly, lying commercials I have seen. This ad says “Ted O’Brien chose political influence over women and safety.” Wait! Isn’t that EXACTLY what this ad is doing? “Political Influence: Political Action Committees (PAC’s) who decide who gets money for their election thereby trying to determine the outcome.”
This ad portrays Ted as a person who doesn’t respect the rights of women, which couldn’t be further from the truth! I have known Ted for a long time as a man who not only respects women but works hard for women. As a husband who is married to a strong and intellectual woman and has two daughters of his own, Ted has always been a supporter of women’s rights! Ted doesn’t have the unlimited supply of money coming in from unknown out-of-state donors who are campaigning on his behalf, so we as residents, who really know Ted O’Brien, need to let people know that these despicable tactics wont work here.
Send a strong message against this garbage on our airwaves. Support Ted O’Brien, a man who works hard for the people he represents to make this community a better place for us all to live.
