Greece Athena High School Music Theatre will present “Les Miserables” at various times Feb. 3 through Feb. 12 at the Greece Central Performing Arts Center, 800 Long Pond Road, Rochester.

The performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 3-4 and 10-11 and at 2 p.m. Feb. 5 and 12. “Les Miserables” will be the first musical performed in the newly remodeled theater.

The play, which is based on the classic novel by Victor Hugo, follows prisoner Jean Valjean and police inspector Javert after Valjean breaks parole and Javert hunts him down. Famous songs will include “At the End of the Day,” “I Dreamed a Dream,” “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables” and “One Day More.”

Junior Mark Mitrano will play Jean Valjean. Mitrano won Best Vocalist at the National High School Music Theatre Jimmy Awards last year in New York City, where he met Andrew Lloyd Webber. He is a National YoungArts Foundation winner and was selected to attend a week of training classes with Broadway professionals in Miami.

The cast includes Riley Catena, Matt Dellario, Michael King, Kendall Miller, Jake Reno, Amy Titus, Julianna Tracey, Ella VanPutte, Grace VanPutte and Max Wright.
