Rochester Global Connections calls the Rochester community to host international students from local universities for Thanksgiving dinner.

International students — who may be far from home for the first time — hope to meet local Americans and experience customs and holidays to better understand American culture.

“I would encourage everyone to take this chance to really get to know and understand young people from other countries while they are studying here, as it will change your life while erasing any ideas you may have that somehow Americans have core differences from others,” said Lois Golbeck, Thanksgiving host and RGC member.

Those interested in hosting should complete the Thanksgiving host application at rochesterglobalconnections.org by Oct. 31.
