Students from Odyssey Music and Drama's "The Wedding Singer" took part in the eighth annual Elementary Read Aloud Program on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
Sixty students took part in the event and read from one of three books related to weddings: "D.W. Thinks Big" by Marc Brown, "Junie B. Jones Is (Almost) a Flower Girl" by Barbara Park and "How I Celebrate" by Pam Robson.
In addition to reading about weddings, the student volunteers told stories about their own experiences with weddings and in the theater. The volunteers also performed the dance from the opening of their show.
"The Wedding Singer" will run from Feb. 23 through Feb. 26 at the Greece Olympia High School auditorium, 1139 Maiden Lane, Rochester. Tickets are available at www.showtix4u.com or at the door.
