Stanley woman allegedly hit child with lamp

A Stanley woman was charged Sept. 2 after she allegedly struck a child with a lamp, said Ontario County sheriff’s deputies.

According to police, Suzette Yankanich, 50, of 4452 Little Church Road, was charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Joseph Yankanich, 54, also of Stanley, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, obstruction and resisting arrest, police said.

Deputies said Joseph Yankanich was sent to the Ontario County Jail.

Both parties will answer charges at the Seneca Town Court at a later date.
