Canandaigua city police charged William T. Reed IV, 29, of Canandaigua following an investigation stemming from a traffic stop occurring on Aug. 29
On that date, said police, Reed was stopped by police in his driveway after he was observed operating a motor vehicle with an expired registration and revoked driver’s license. At that time, said police, Reed was allowed to enter his residence to retrieve his license, and while doing so, refused to come out by locking his doors.
On Sunday, police said they located Reed at his residence and made attempts to take him into custody on the outstanding charges of obstructing governmental administration and several traffic infractions. Reed attempted to flee from police by running on foot, but was apprehended a short time later by officers, said police. He was subsequently charged with two counts of obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of marijuana and seven traffic infractions.
He was processed and transported to Ontario County Jail, and bail was set at $1,000.
