Today, Representative Kathy Hochul (NY-26) announced a $10,032 grant from the Department of Justice for the Town of Greece to procure updated technical investigation equipment.
“This important funding will help the Town of Greece as they work to prevent and reduce local crime,” said Hochul. “I am pleased that this community will be able to provide local law enforcement with additional resources and equipment necessary to keep their community safe.”
The Town of Greece will utilize the funding to purchase technical investigation equipment in an effort to improve crime identification and communication with victims, witnesses, and suspects.
This funding comes from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program (JAG) at the Department of Justice, which allows states and local governments to support various programs to prevent and control crime based on their local needs and conditions. Grant funds can be used for state and local initiatives, technical assistance, training, personnel, equipment, supplies, contractual support, and information systems for criminal justice.
