After more than a year of taking detours, two-way traffic will allow drivers in Fairport to use Jefferson Avenue by Monday, Sept. 3 — just in time for the first day of school.
The County DOT will still be working on final touches of the project, explained Perinton Commissioner of Public Works, Tom Beck. The road has been under construction since March 2011.
“The project should be completely wrapped up by the end of September or sooner,” he said.
The first day of school for the Fairport district will be Wednesday, Sept. 5.
