Mud About You in Penfield to close in December

After five years of business, beloved pottery workshop Mud About You will be closing its doors on Dec. 31.

Owners Chuck and Rachel Jones sent a letter in this regard to customers this week.

"We have tried everything we could think of to save our business including praying for a miracle but, unfortunately, it isn’t going to happen," they wrote. "We understand very well how this economy has affected you as it has affected us as well. We had hoped to ride out this difficult time but find we cannot any longer."

Since 2007, the shop, located at 1802 Penfield Road in Penfield, has been a place where people of all ages can come paint ceramics and make other keepsakes like glass mosaics. Mud About You also hosted birthday parties and other events.

"Our goal has always been to provide a comfortable place for you to relax and create with friendly and personal customer service," wrote the owners. "We feel we accomplished that

The location is currently for sale, and the owners say they hope to find a buyer who can keep the business running.
