Doris Avel of Hilton has died after being critically injured in a three-car crash.
Around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to Route 104 and Hinkleyville Road in Parma for the report of a three vehicle crash with injuries.
Avel, 81, was westbound on Route 104 and waiting to turn left on Hinkleyville Road when she was struck from behind by westbound SUV driven by Lauren Parker, 19, of Greece.
The collision forced the car into the eastbound lane where it was struck head on by a pickup truck driven by Wayne Whitney of Brockport.
Avel was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injures , said Cpl. John Helfer of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, where she later died.
Her elderly female passenger was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Whitney suffered minor injuried and was transported to the hospital.
Parker was not injured.
She was issued two tickets; following too closely and failure to move from lane safely.
