A new Walmart opened in the renovated Northgate Plaza in Greece Wednesday morning. Shoppers gathered outside the store at 7:15 a.m. for a flag raising and ribbon-cutting ceremony, then rushed inside as soon as the doors opened.
"I'm just really glad to see this store here today," said Senator Joe Robach. "All these improvements are going to help these other stores."
The town granted approval in 2007 for Walmart to be built. After a nearly four-year delay, the retail giant started construction last August.
