On Friday, June 22, CP Rochester hosted members from the Seattle-based Thompson Family Foundation for a day of learning and hard work.
The Foundation, founded in 2008, not only contributes financially to organizations working to
improve the physical, emotional and educational well-being of children and adults, but donates
their time and efforts as well. What’s unique about this self-funded family foundation is that it
focuses its time and money on local not-for-profits in regions when and where they go on
vacation, whether it be in the U.S. or other countries such as Jamaica.
In addition to a $2,500 gift to the Augustin Children’s Center at CP Rochester, six members of the Thompson Family Foundation volunteered their entire day making maintenance enhancements to the agency’s outdoor exploratory preschool classroom. The family spent hours painting, landscaping and making improvements to the classrooms’ clubhouse.
