Brockport —
Kitty Hubbard, associate professor of art at SUNY Brockport, has curated "Regarding Place: Photo Media Invitational," featuring images from various artists.
The exhibit will be on view at the college's Tower Fine Arts Center Gallery, located at 180 Holley St., from Jan. 25 through Feb. 19. An opening reception will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Jan. 24
Hubbard believes that the exhibit highlights the diversity of media and messages communicated through photo-based arts. "The photographic image is explored via the use of traditional, alternative, digital, video, audio, books and online communities, but the intentions of the artists go far beyond the media," Hubbard said. "I am really excited to have four outstanding, exciting, provocative, engaged photographers in this exhibit."
Hubbard has included additional programming to accompany the exhibit, including lectures, Skype chats with artists and workshops that will continue throughout the semester.
