Child Care Council Inc. has promoted Hector Santiago to the position of Latino services coordinator.
In his new role, Santiago will help ensure that Child Care Council communicates effectively with limited English-proficient individuals. In addition, he will facilitate and coordinate access to training classes and programs for fluent Spanish-speaking child care providers.
Santiago brings 14 years of experience working with children to his new position.
He previously served as a legally exempt enrollment specialist, family day care registrar and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) specialist at the Council. He earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Puerto Rico in Ponce.
A Rochester resident, he is a member of the National Association for Family Child Care and a volunteer with AIDS Care.
