Randy Henderson, a board member of Action for a Better Community (ABC), will be honored tomorrow with a Community Action Visions and Values Award.
The volunteerism award is part of the 2012 New York State Community Action Association (NYSCAA) and New York State Weatherization Directors Association (NYSWDA) Annual Professional Development Conference. Each year, the award recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the Community Action Network’s mission, programs, or activities and exemplify the true meaning of Community Action.
Henderson will be honored at 6 p.m. Wednesday during a dinner at the Radisson Hotel in downtown Rochester.
Henderson serves as the first vice chair on ABC’s board of directors and has been an active member since 2001. He also provides his expertise as a member of the finance committee of the board.
As CEO of the Henderson Automotive Family, Henderson has provided sponsorships to a variety of ABC events especially those that serve youth.
Henderson helped with the development of ABC’s Milestones Youth Advocacy and Intervention Program as well as the ABC Enterprise Center.
Action for a Better Community is a federally and state designated community action agency which helps Monroe and Ontario County residents become more self-sufficient.
