  • The 2nd U.S. Court of Appeals is scheduled to hear oral arguments in the case of Galloway versus the town of Greece on Monday, Sept. 12.
The arguments, heard in New York City, are expected to last around 30 minutes.
The lawsuit was originally filed by Americans United for Separation of Church and State to challenge the Greece Town Board’s policy of inviting clergy to open up Town Board meetings with a prayer.
The group filed a subsequent appeal following an August 2010 decision declared the opening prayer to be constitutional.
