A pedestrian bridge in the village of Fairport is planned to be installed this Friday.

According to Tom Beck, Perinton commissioner of public works, the parts of the bridge will arrive on Tuesday evening near Cobb's Lane.

On Friday, two cranes on both sides of the Erie Canal will lift the parts of the bridge into place. The canal is scheduled to be closed for up to five hours while the structure is installed.

The exact time for this installation has yet to be determined, Beck said.
