MacKenzie, a defenseman for the Amerks of the American Hockey League, played in 17 games for Rochester this season and has tallied four assists.
He has also played in three games for the Gladiators of the East Coast Hockey League and dished out one assist.
MacKenzie was in the Western Hockey League during his junior hockey career and racked up 18 goals and 80 assists. He played for Calgary and Tri-City.
MacKenzie was selected in the third round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres.
